This book is the result of a share from different academic, analytical and ideological perspectives on a specific topic, the future of Mexico in the twenty-first century analysis. The starting point are apparently different topics. However, there is a common thread to all the themes developed along this collective work, and determining what is the status of certain processes and settings that give sense and logic to the country in the context of social change, political economic and globally. I mean, this book aims to contribute to the understanding of how Mexico is changing for the new century and also locate the major subject for future reflection agenda for the country. Therefore, this book delves into the analysis of social transformations in Mexico from various aspects and academic and intellectual perspectives. This work constitutes a space for reflection on different topics, but they are present in the process of social change in Mexico. The impact of changes in the economic model that transits in the eighties from a protectionist to another neoliberal model and the process of political liberalization in the country, formally launched at the end of the decade-cited, resulted a number of changes to the social processes that gave meaning and direction to the Mexican system of social reproduction system. Thus, the symbolic and institutional references that gave him meaning to social life is disrupted, social identity was fragmented and polarized at this new opening in the institutional life of the country, resulting in a need to reflect and raise issues that serve to understand the evolution of the country from the perspective of the social structure in this context of political change in the country.
