School architecture had a propulsive effect on the development of the Modern Movement architecture. Due to their social function nature, school buildings –more than any other project- favored the development of powerful architectures, paradoxically low in number. This article, developed in the context of an investigation on the relations between architecture and pedagogy in recent architecture, collects the most relevant proposals dealing with the relations between pedagogical programs and modern architectural shapes and spaces.
