The present text manifests the importance of having a center for touristic studies backed up in investigation and in the application of indicators, that allows to maintain the touristic activity monitored, looking forward to contribute to the formulation of innovative proposals for the department of Quindio. An inductive, exploratory and descriptive method was used. In the first phase of this project an initial approach with the touristic service providers came true, whom by means of an opinion survey applied right in their establishments, it was posible to achieve initial data for a diagnosis and reflection in connection with the touristic activity. Finally, it was concluded that it is relevant to conduct a center for touristic studies, due to the lack of statistical sources that monitor the offer and this way apply the model of life cycle of the touristic destination of Richard Butler.
