Summary Objective: To determine the frequency of academic undergraduate abuse by teachers of medicine programs Manizales (Colombia), 2013. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted, with a population of 401 abuse and harassment: Students enrolled in the two faculties of medicine semesters IX University Manizales and Caldas (Manizales, Colombia), in 2013, an anonymous survey consisted of 48 questions divided into the following aspects were used sex by teachers, institutional support. Results: 70.6% of students have received at least one type of abuse, 29.2% of the stu-dents have received at least one event of sexual abuse, only 7.2% of students feel full institutional support. Abuse is approximately equal in basic and clinical and equal in both universities areas, and gender. Between semesters significant differences occur, although no clear trends are presented. Some pretty serious events have appreciable proportions, eg rape by 2.9% (n = 13), attempted rape 2.2% (n = 9), unnecessary touching 3.9% (n = 16), etc. 7.3% (n = 29) felt sexually harassed in medical schools. Conconclusions: The results of this study indicate that academic undergraduates in medicine, abuse by teachers is evident as a highly inappropriate behavior, which is perpetuated in the tempo.
