La perdida de los organos dentarios se constituye en uno de los problemas mas comunes a nivel mundial, siendo la poblacion adulta la mas afectada; buscando una solucion, se ha intentado de diversas formas el reemplazo de las piezas dentarias perdidas, como es la utilizacion de protesis removibles y las implanto soportadas, siendo los implantes la mejor alternativa en el tratamiento protesico, ya que a los pacientes edentulos le brinda igual o mejor estetica, pero una mayor satisfaccion, funcionalidad, creandole asi el mejor ambiente para su desarrollo personal y social. Las sobre dentaduras con implantes oseointegrados se pronostica como una opcion terapeutica odontologica con gran exito para los pacientes edentulos que hayan sido o no sometido a tratamientos protesicos. ABSTRACT The loss of the dental organs is constituted in one of the most common problems to world level, being the mature population the most affected; looking for a solution, it has been attempted in diverse ways the substitution of the lost dental pieces , like it is the use of removable prostheses and the implantsupported, being the osseointegrated implants the best alternative in the prosthetic treatment , since to the edentulous patient it offers same or better aesthetics, but a bigger satisfaction, functionality, creating this way him the best atmosphere for their personal and social development. The overdentures with implant it is predicted like an odontologic therapeutic option with great success for the edentulous patient that have been or not subjected to prostheses treatments.
