Caracterización de los residuos vegetales generados en el centro mayorista de acopio de la ciudad de Armenia (MERCAR) para su utilización industrial en la producción de biocombustibles
The collection centers are entities formed by a conglomerate of people offering services and goods, grouped in commercial and service areas and managed ensuring always provided a great service to society. In Armenia, the Central has Wholesaler of Supplies MERCAR which has shops where they sell fruits, vegetables, grains, meats and products in general for human consumption. The aim of this study was to determine the amount and type of waste produced at the plant vegetable gathering food from the city of Armenia, MERCAR. It was observed that 50% of businesses in central fruit and vegetable market, in this business there are no accurate records about the amount of raw material purchasing to supply their business, nor on the amount of waste produced, which initially impossible to make a prediction about the amount of biological material discarded daily or weekly, in addition to that there is a culture of recycling within the plant, which would make the process of transforming waste to give added value is a little more complex Key Word: Vegetables waste, cellulose, biofuels
