Algunas de las universidades colombianas que cuentan con el reconocimiento de “Acreditacion Institucional de Alta Calidad”, estan trabajando en programas que permiten a los estudiantes, de diversas facultades, desarrollar sus competencias en lectura y escritura. Esto, segun se encontro, esta motivado por la nueva concepcion de que la lectura y la escritura no son competencias que se adquieren y luego, solo se utilizan, si no que se consideran como competencias que se desarrollan a lo largo de la vida y que tienen una fuerte relacion con la disciplina en la cual se utilizan. Esta nueva concepcion de la lectura y la escritura es lo que hoy se conoce como “Alfabetizacion Academica” y, no se da solo en Colombia, pues se esta dando en diversas regiones del mundo. ABSTRACT Some of the Colombian universities that have the recognition of Institutional Accrediting of High Quality, they are working in programs that allow to the students, of diverse abilities, to develop their competitions in reading and writing. It was found that it is motivated by the new conception that the reading and the writing are not competences that are acquired and then, they are only used, if not that they are considered as competitions that are developed along the life and that they have a strong relationship with the discipline in which there are used. This new conception of the reading and the writing is what today is known as Academic Literacy and, it is not only given in Colombia, but in diverse regions of the world.
