The present investigation is a descriptive study, that has the objective to investigate about oral communicative competence in a group of 33 subjects, 21 women and 12 educational adult men of the “Iberoamerican University Institution” (I.U.I.) in situation of class, between the 26 and 70 years old; which were interviewed and observed through a video recording in a real situation of class, with the aim to describe the sociolinguistic, pragmatic, and linguistic competence, according to the SPEAKING model of Hymes (1974); that propose 8 categories of analysis: situation, participating, aims, sequence of acts, key, instruments, norms and kind; the results obtained show that exist minimum differences in the oral communicative competence, that vary according to the program to which the teachers belongs, mediated by the strategy, the style, instruments and the kind utilized, that generates the need to establish the consistency of the communicative phenomenon, establish permanent continued programs of education proposed from the program of Phonoaudiology with the aim to fortify the qualification of the professors as for the relation communication – teaching that are contemplated inside the PEI.
