Reflections on a study of Colombian companies about technology and management tools 80´s decade starts as a permanent dynamic activity in the management of Colombian companies incorporating technologies and tools that were considered alternatives for operational efficiency. That is why employers chosed to employ strategic planning, total quality management, continuous improvement, management by objectives customer service, reengineering and others that were widely used in the context of organizations. The experience of these applications brought testimonies that showed success or failures of difference versions of the technology. This article presents the findings in research conducted in 201 enterprises of different sizes and sectors in Bogota, Colombia, above the results in such companies where the application of such technologies and management tools. Took place. The research answers questions about individuals, groups or organizations that have benefited incorporating such tools. The investigation also includes situations in which the dynamics of the process of change impaces in the participation of senior management, employees, the outside consultant, and the importance of organizational culture in the company. From this perspective present research confirms the nature of fashion of such technologies and tools as well as the low level of integration and continuity in the management of the companies
