Map production requires a complete knowledge of basic geometry, cartographic projections and coordinate systems, which uses complex geodetic and mathematical processes as well as expensive field jobs. Digital large scale mapping (digital cartography) requires high precision coordinates in order to represent the right relation between land and the final map; it must take in account the international standards of accuracy and the maximum acceptable errors at the scale. Digital cartography is perhaps one of the most important tools in geosciences, that is why it is also required to know some particular and essential aspects of mapping and the spatial relationship between the cartographic data and the ground features; thus, cartography let us get detail spatial information without moving from our offices.
