This is the case of the current study, which considers the possibility of a hypothetical chocolate manufacturing company in Colombia that might be interested in expanding its production and current markets to Ghana, an exotic location in western Africa. The relevance of assessing Ghana?s suitability for such purpose relies on the fact that it is one of the world?s major cocoa producers, the main input for chocolate manufacturing companies. This approach shall not be taken as an end, but as a mean to complement the specific figures that must be taken into account for particular projects. Furthermore, it is assumed that the company is willing to invest overseas, apart from any specific conditions of Colombian reality. For this reason, a country analysis of Ghana per se is the central topic of this study.
