Since the late 1980s, teacher training in Colombia is concomitant with the reforms of the school systems that took place within the framework of the PREAL in several countries in Latin America. The Colombian policy framework on teacher training presents strong similarities with the rules adopted after 1990 in countries such as Chile, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.
