The following research project aims to show the academic community and Colombian society, the epistemological journey, which took the youth program in action at SENA, regional Caldas. Describe accomplishments, achievements from the narratives of the major players and some perspectives in theory and practice with regard to the intent of education in promoting human development, from the youth in action program. A first approach is intertwined with conceptions of youth / youth and cultural, social and political fields, providing an approach to autonomy, freedom and prosperity. Given this triangulation of the research done by international organizations on the situation of young people in Latin America, a regional and national visions finding is made. The next moment is theoretical discussion with guest authors, enlivened in the conception of human development as the ability to enhance the capabilities and the strong will of the youths, from cultural principles and the changes and innovations in efforts to make education promoting development in people. Finally, the capabilities that provide human / youth being from the SENA program and institutional strength to expand opportunities for initiatives and opportunities to live the kind of life that values and want to look at a young Colombian.
