This paper presents the results obtained in the automation of a biosafety laboratory NSB3A using a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition). The main task in the automation of laboratories that work with microorganisms such as virus, bacteria, fungi, parasites, rickettsia, Chlamydia is implementing technological tools and additional physical barriers of the building, to confine these agents in a sort of bubble, isolated from the outside environment. They were implemented some equipments to allow the controlled passage of materials, equipments, inputs, people, which serve as a boundary between the outside, inside and vice versa, which record, monitor, and generate alarms activities. Systems integrated to the general laboratory SCADA are: a) Ventilation and presure control system b) Access of staff c) Monitoring and alarm system generator d) System decontamination and waste management 1) personal showers 2) Pass-through 3) Airlock 4) Wastewater Treatment Plant 5) Autoclave, e) Outputs emergency, intrusion, CCTV, panic, flood, smoke and gases f) control process.
