A study with nine tomato (Lycopersicon sculentum, Mill) varieties was developed during two years in Velasco locality, Holguin province, in order to evaluate its agroproductive and phytosanitary behavior. The essays were realized during the periods from February to March of 2001 and from December of 2001 to January of 2002 with the varieties INCA-9-1 and Campbell-28, respectively, like witness. The experiments were realized on without carbonate brown soil, in randomize blocks with 4 replies. Were evaluated the height and fruits number per plant, the yield and the behavior facing pests and diseases attack. The results showed significative variations among the genotypes studied in fruits number per plant, reached the mayor value the varieties INCA-9-1, INIFAT-28, Amalia and Mariela. The varieties of mayor production per area unity, in both essays, were: Mariela, Amalia and INIFAT-28, which achieved totals productions, per hectare, of 44,09; 40,65 y 36,80 t, respectively. Respect phytopathology behavior was the viruses the diseases that more affected in plantation realized in February.
