The present text is a tribute to don Francisco Jose Flores Arroyuelo, credited writer and investigator that has been professor of Philology, Literature and Ethnography at the University of Murcia. He became the first president of the Flamenco Association of the University of Murcia and, in his honor, we revise the intellectuals’ function in favor of flamenco in Spain and in the region of Murcia, from the signaled writers for the poetic exaltation of Flamenco until the most recent and essential musicological studies.
