EVALUATION OF TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE RECOVERY OF SOILS DEGRADED BY SALINITY

Acceso Cerrado

Abstract:

Salinity and sodium content in soils interferes with proper growth of most crops and therefore constitutes a serious problem facing sustainable agriculture. The objective of this research was to evaluate a series of unconventional technologies used in recovery of salt-affected soils according to the agronomic response of a maize crop. The application of three alternative treatments with Biofertilizers, Biopolymers and Electromagnetism were proposed to make a comparison with the USDA-based conventional theory approach (United States Department of Agriculture) of chemical amendments (gypsum - sulfur). In addition to an absolute control (drainage only). The most effective treatments in terms of physiological response and productivity were the biological using microorganisms (biofertilizers and electromagnetism), clarifying that electromagnetic stimulation was included to accelerate microbial activity and lower soil time recovery in salt affected soils.
