Tin oxide, SnO2, is a compound used in many technological applications among them as gas sensor and in the production of diverters surges, varistors, among others. In the present work the controlled precipitation method, MPC, was used to synthesize tin oxide, using tin sulfate as precursor. The control of the different stages of the synthesis process was carried out through the registrations of pH variation, potentiometric titration, and specific conductivity of the system. These curves contain information on the different processes that taking place in the system and they can be used to guarantee the reproducibility of the process. The characteristics of the obtained ceramic powder were determined using X rays diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
