One of the government strategies to response the challenges created by urban transport in metropolitan areas of Latin America has been building mass public-transit systems. Within the possibilities of these systems see the Bus Rapid Transit (bus system roadway). Cali is the metropolitan area in Latinamerica where this system has been established more recently. The paper aims to introduce advanced experience in this city through the Masivo Integrado de Occidente (MIO) in response to the needs of urban transport in this metropolitan area.
