The Maraco is an amazonic fruit with a high potential for agroindustry, and so it is necesary to study the plant physiological behaviour in order to inelude it in the regional economy as an alternative of the amazonic productivity. This study was carry out in order to characterize maracos vegetative growth using the growth derivated measures: Net assimilationrate (NAR), Relative growth rate (RGR), Crop growth rate (CGR), Leaf area ratio (LAR), Leaf area duration (LAD) and Leaf area index (LAI) from sown field until flowering. It was found that leal area and dry weight behavies in a sigmoidal way. The NAR, RGR LAR and CGR get it maximun at the begining of reproductive step, which aloud an adequate balance carbonlnitrogen to pass from vegetative stage to reproductive one. The growth analysis permited the estimation of dry matter and leal area expansion in the maraco plant that aids to recommend agronomic mangement practice lor maraco crop as lertilization and plant architecture to increase photosyntetic activity in the crop.
