The present paper describes and analyzes a psychoanalitical case, showing the importance of compulsive repetition and defense mechanisms against persecuting anxieties. This analysis is based on the work of S. Freud on the transference of the compulsion to the act of repetition, Introduction to narcisism and Beyond the pleasure principle.
