The present article is a product of the reflection about the assessment of Colombian higher education of Colombian Caribbean Region, where we can try some variables which are in the evaluation process of the university students. Different conditions have a lot of designs, applications and the evaluation by professors. There are some So, it is advisable to design and implement assessment systems for Colombian Caribbean university students, in accordance with the Law 30, 1992, which is designed to create better assessment processes, curriculum flexibility, and improved academic development. So, the problem question will be: How to make aware the universities of the Colombian Caribbean Region universities to design a higher education students´ learning assessment system based on educational research to improve the academic competences? The objective of this article is to make aware of the Colombian Caribbean Region universities to design a system of assessment for higher education students´ learning based on educational research to improve the academic competences. characteristics at the university, so students have the same aspects in the area of assessment. There will always be differences between public and private universities about low and high economic conditions of the students. It is necessary that the professors have enough knowledge and capacity in order to evaluate. Sometimes, they are responsible for the failure and success of students in higher education.
