The objective of this study was to establish if a relationship exists between financial aspects and characteristics of the entrepreneur and small businesses in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. The results have revealed that a relationship does exist, emphasizing that are the middle-aged entrepreneur (41 to 50 years) with engineering and accounting studies, are those who are concerned on having accounting information systems and make cash flows and budgets.
