For the first time in Colombia authentic remains of the cheirolepidiaceous genera Frenelopsis and Pseudofrenelopsis are recorded. The specimens, vegetative shoots, are described from the Early Cretaceous marine beds in Bucaramanga (Santander), Villa de Leiva (Boyaca) and Aipe (Huila) localities. The plant remains represent a littoral community dominated by gymnosperms species fossilized in a muddy semiarid coastal environment.
