The analysis by stages of the poem “Romanza del Dia no Deseado” by Eduardo Carranza (Colombia, 1913 – 1985), intends to explain the reasons why it was published in the colombian magazine Mito (1955 – 1962). The motto of this magazine “the words are in situation –las palabras estan en situacion–” described the fundamental purpose of the editor: to find the ideal intellectual profile of Literature in the 50’s. This article includes biographical data of Eduardo Carranza as a writer, a poetic analysis of the text published in the magazine Mito, and its conclusions.
