Making it clear that this is a legal transplant, this text gives an overall look about the two centuries of Colombian constitutionalism development from the germinal stages for 1810 in the framework of which has become known as the First Republic and concludes with a look on the complex process of issuance of the 1991 Constitution. The paper strongly emphasizes in the permanence of discontinuities in what has to do with the validity of the nine different constitutional projects that have been proposed in our environment, even with the present Constitution, already subject of numerous reforms.
