This essay deals with over education in Cali (Colombia). Results show that this is a serious problem, because 58.4% of the 4.077 hired workers in its first year of employment were over-educated, 37.3% were well educated and 4.3% were sub-educated. The over education problem does not seem to be a temporal but a structural desequilibrium since it is used by worker to signal the labour market. These results are similar to those obtained in other labour studies in the city in year 2000.
