El presente articulo divulga los resultados de la investigacion “Las Familias Indigenas Mokana y su Participacion Sociocultural en el Municipio de Tubara”, realizada con la participacion activa de las familias, autoridades del Cabildo Local y el colectivo de investigacion. Gracias a todos ellos fue posible realizar la caracterizacion del grupo estudiado, la interpretacion y comprension de su legado etnohistorico. Metodologicamente, se implementaron tecnicas como observaciones directas participantes, entrevistas semiestructuradas y registros fotograficos, entre otras. Al final, la investigacion permitio conocer la situacion de aculturacion que atraviesa el pueblo indigena y, desde la perspectiva de las ciencias sociales, contribuyo a rescatar y perpetuar los saberes ancestrales. Abstract This article reports the research results about the indigenous Mokana family and its socio cultural participation and integration in Tubara. The research was carried out with the cooperation and active participation of the indigenous families, their local council authorities and the research group. Thanks to all of them it was possible to do the characterization of the group studied, as well as the interpretation and understanding of its ethno-historical legacy. Methodologically, there were some techniques implemented such as direct observation participants, semi-structured interviews and photographic records, among others. Finally, the research yielded information on the status of acculturation that has been experiencing this indigenous group; and from the social sciences perspective, it helped to rescue and immortalize the Mokana’s ancestral wisdom.
