The goal of this research was to describe the characteristics of the instruments that of use to in this way evaluate the development of the language in population that speaks Spanish and to offer tools to the fonoaudiologos for selection of such in the professional exercise. The method of used analysis of information was the bibliometric that it included, aspects of conceptual order as theoretical frame, disciplines from which they were generated on ,the other hand, methodologic aspects like time of application, materials that it requires to be applied, level of professional expertise, among others. 24 instruments used with regularity in universities of Bogota and available by data bases were described. An ample production was identified from Psychology and the Linguistic that has been increased from 1991, specially produced Spain for ages between there- and twelve years-old, majority without validating and not adapted Colombian people. Of individual application in general, that short time of application and which they offer qualitative data or profiles of age as qualification forms preferred.
