Through archival findings, the text opens up the horizon to interpretations over the political ideology of the so–called European Enlightenment and its presence in America. Thereby these new horizons open up discussions on enlightened languages and other enlightenments that permeated modern times. The historiography concentrated its analysis on the influence of French and English enlightenment–philosophers over the rest of the world, showing only one side of the complex relationship that exists between the continents. Here by, through the study of Neapolitan authors of the XVIII century Genovesi and Filangieri, and within the context of the production of ideas in Euroamerica between 1760 and 1850, the classic Euro centrist analysis is restated. The text shows an early political globalization of enlightened ideas, hidden by the brightness of the French lights.
