This report complies the data published in Colombia literature on the geographic distribution of triatominae. It alos includes the geographic distribution of the reported cases of chagas disease of human infestations by trypanosoma rangeli ariarii and other undetermined trypanosomas. It is emphasized that the triatominae are distributed in localities whose altitude varies between 0 and 2133 meters above sea level and where the median annual temperature varies from 18 to 29 centigrade. The national literature registers at present only 35 to 40 human cases of chagas disease. Since 90 per cent of Colombian territory has an altitude of less than 20.000 meters above sea level there is a possibility that not only the distribution of traitominae but also human trypanosomiasis are more widely spread than is at present known. Tje existence of rhodnius prolixus is also reported in the following localities: Bucaramanga and Piedecuesta, Santander del Sur department, and Chinacota, San Cayetano, Santiago, Tibu, Tres Bocas, Catama and Villa del Rosario, Santander del Norte department.
