La distraccion osteogenica es una tecnica con gran versatilidad, entre sus campos de accion se ha utilizado para crear rebordes alveolares perdidos mediante la distraccion osteogenica alveolar, con el fin de restablecer la funcion del paciente mediante colocacion de implantes de oseointegracion para realizar la restauracion protesica. Se presenta un paciente con antecedente de herida por arma de fuego en la mandibula tratado de manera exitosa mediante distraccion osteogenica alveolar y colocacion de implantes oseointegrados. ABSTRACT The osteogenic distraction is a technique with great versatility, it has been used in order to create lost alveolar rims by means of alveolar osteogenic distraction, with the purpose of restoring patient's function by mean of using oseointegration implant to make prostetic restoration. A patient wich suffered gunshot wound in the jaw and was treated successfully by alveolar osteogenic distraction and restored with oseointegrated implants is presented.
