The current dynamics of globalization and the consolidation of economic blocs and the proliferation of free trade agreements, leads to investigate the meaning that regionalintegration to these new international phenomena. This article argues that the dynamics of economic blocs and the Free Trade necessarily lead to a multipolar world order, that is, the consolidation of various power centers in the world in which protectionist economic dynamics predominate, which goes counter to the ideals of multilateralism, making new dilemmas and paradoxes integration processes are generated.
