Fifty two (52) children with diagnosis of non-complicated symptomatic intestinal amebiasis were treated with single dose of Secnidazole suspension at 30 mg/Kg. A clinical recovery and parasitological cure of 90.4%. The side effects were mild and neither required other medication and nor let the patient out of study. It is concluded that Secnidazolc at this dose is both effective and safe for treatment of symptomatic non-complicated intestinal amebiasis in children.
