End of life elderly patient’s care require a specialized approach that involves the different characteristics of this population. Specific attention needs, as well as attending the people around will avoid the often nihilistic attitudes that have been held along the care of elders. In this paper we review those aspects that can facilitate greater patient comfort in an end of life context: emotional support, health promotion, care to cognitive impairment and psychopathologies that may occur. Agony accompanying and the support of their loved ones are also important for this proposal.
