Resumen La genetica se ha convertido en el area cientifica con mayores implicaciones bioeticas y sociales,debido al poder de transformacion que tiene sobre lo que se ha considerado, hasta ahora, como lanaturaleza humana. En este trabajo se propone analizar la relacion entre el nuevo paradigma genetico,la nocion historica de la esencia humana y los contemporaneos modelos antropocentrico y evolutivo dela naturaleza humana. Utilizando elementos conceptuales que correspondan a una bioetica reflexiva,secular y critica, para intentar comprender mejor los fundamentos ideologicos de las tecnologias de lamedicina genomica (Acta Med Colomb 2005; 30: 68-72).Palabras clave: genetica, bioetica, modelos bioeticos, naturaleza humana, paradigmas. Abstract Genetics has become the scientific area with the greatest bio-ethical and social implications, due itstransformation power upon what has been considered, so far, as human nature. This work’s objective isto analyze the relationship between the genetic paradigm, the historical notion of human essence andthe contemporary anthropocentric and evolution models of human nature; using conceptual elementsthat correspond to reflexive, secular and critical bio-ethics to try to better understand the ideologicalbasis of genomic medicine technologies.
