The burnout syndrome is a very common disorder that occurs mostly in professionals who have a job focused on the mankinds welfare, and it is of such importance that has been described by World Health Organization as an occupational hazard. Its development involves several risk factors and describes concrete clinical characteristics that help defining, identifying the sindrome, and scales that classified symptomes according to its severity. The consequences of this sindrome are many, both, at a personal and organizational level, so it is important and it is the aim of this review to study it thoroughly for proper prevention.
