The stratigraphic section along Quebrada Ocal is bounded on its base and top by west verging basement influenced reverse faults (EI Toti and La Boba Faults respectively), whereas the adjacent faults -Chusma and Dina- of the foreland fold and thrust belt region in northwestern Huila Department face eastward. The bed by bed measured lithologic units referred to in this paper (Ocal, Caballos and Villeta pars) consist of fossiliferous marine sedimentary rocks ranging in age from late Aptian to late Cenomanian. In this paper we present local ranges of identified ammonite taxa to compare with previously established palinological and foraminiferal biostratigraphies.
