This work offers a brief description regarding the regulation of vices of consent as envisaged in the Unidroit Principles. It subsequently outlines the most relevant conformities and disconformities in the face of the Colombian system; and, finally, it provides an economic analysis of the incentives contained in each regulation leading to avoidance by the parties of defaults or vices of consent in the contract or agreement, whereby the inefficiency of the Colombian system is exposed in front of the Unidroit Principles, as it does not offer such incentives.
