The caring experience for people with chronic disease develops potentialities and risks that deserve recognition. The chronic illness impact in family, human development, problems of role, interpersonal interactions and care for caregiver him/herself, determine the presence of formal and informal self-help groups. It is presented an overview of the conceptual aspects of chronicity from an epidemiological point of view, its impact on the caretaker, and the proposal of social support through information technologies and communication technologies (ICTs), using radio and the Web, from School of Nursing care group at the University of Cartagena, aimed to strengthening caregivers, networking support and make visible its condition.
