This review article defines the relationship between craftsmanship and education founded on a cultural comprehension of the traditional wisdom and the social customs characterizing the craft field. Craft activity in Colombia is determined by exclusion and poverty because it is usually in charge of people from county and secluded places of the country. The re-activation of craftsmanship as an economic area has been the most remarkable fact contributing to its technical improvement, innovation and design. However, craftsmen’s state of affairs has been affected by the global market competence, the local and touristic stuff, as well. As a result, craftsmanship has been considered as a pre-industrial and rather artistic activity circumscribed by consumer choices. But, craftsmanship is more than a value added technical production. It is the representation of remote societies daily life and a way to get through. Then, its preservation should go beyond the economic efforts to protect it and rely on its cultural and pedagogical features as historical and inherited wisdom.
