This article presents the results of the investigation carried out for the design and construction of a portable spectrum analyzer using the digital signal processor DSP56F807, a member of the family 56F800 of Freescale Semiconductor, and a screen LCD graph. This design is an example of a direct application of the theory of digital signal processing. It was finally observed that the obtained erros are smaller than 1% when implementing the radix-2 algorithm to calculate the fast fourier transform with different waveforms.
