The purpose of this study was to estimate the degree of psychometric validity of the Spanish version of the auditory comprehension and naming subtests of the Boston Diagnosis Aphasia Examination developed by Goodglass and Kaplan (1-2». The degree of validity was obtained by statistically comparing two sets of data: The results obtained by 40 Colombian subjects and the original normative data used as criterion measure. The selection criteria - lack of neuropathologies, age, sex , and education - were the same used for the Spanish validation process (2). Results revealed that the two subtests offer a reasonable degree of validity for its use with Colombian populations, since the observed differences between the two groups did not reach statistical significance. However, the evidence obtained suggests the need of continuing the validation process with the remaining subtests as to obtain psychometric information for the completetest.
