Planning processes are topics that have become very important given the impact they have on the development and growth within cities. Bogota is one of the most important cities in the country and because of that, is relevant appropriates planning processes to avoid market failures or negative externalities which may affect the city’s performing. To solution to problems and to improve the life quality and welfare of people in society is fundamental planning from the local scope, so ideas of development are conceiving from nearest space of social interaction. This research outlines analyze planning processes in Bogota since the early 1950 and search for reasons how they have affected socioeconomic aspects. Through the literature review is evident the existence of negative externalities meanwhile transformations with poor or no planning, either control and policies coordination; which affect people welfare. Similarly spatial analysis is performed through specialization indicators to learn more about the socioeconomic dynamics of Bogota.
