This work presents the development of a web-based tool georeferenced through the API of Google Maps to administer the surface water resources in the basin of the La Vieja river in Colombia. This is for the purpose of creating an easy-to-access information collection system, which would offer people real and current data about the status of the water resources in the La Vieja river basin, for future queries and research. The development of this web-based application was carried out using SCRUM agile methodology and Mpiua methodology, which, when integrated, made it possible to carry out evolutional and incremental development, where users were actively involved at the time of incorporating aspects of usability and accessibility. Likewise, MVC architecture was used to obtain a more upgradable product with: data abstraction, easy-to-understand code, intercommunication between components, and control of server resources. Finally, the HidroQuindio web-based tool was implemented. This made it possible to administer information of the monitoring stations, water sources, regional entities, water intake sources, and piping structures to support decision making around the water basin.
