Human management is strongly influenced by international pressure and increasing social awareness. These factors have created the emergence of good labor practices included in codes of behaviour established by multinational enterprises and international organizations. These codes seek to suppress those actions that impair workers' conditions within the corporate environment. Adequate human management enhances companies' innovation, a key element that allows them to better compete in local and global markets. This article presents the relationship between strategies and practices in human management in some companies based in Pereira, and in light of the good practices that have been set forth by the International Labor Organization in this domain.
