The present study had as propose to understand the human development at the Technical Education Department of the Universidad Pedagogica Experimental Libertador - Instituto Pedagogico de Barquisimeto (UPEL-IPB), through the teachers staff life stories. To that, the research was carry out from the interpretative paradigm, as a way to studying and interpreting the events that then after allow us to genera te theory about human development. Specifically, ontological, epistemological and methodological dimension were explored. The data collecting process was achieve through three phases: a preparatory phase, a field phase and an information transcription phase, using deep interviews and non participant observation as techniques, and as analysis units two (02) teachers from the Technical Education Department. The information was processed using the speech analysis and the triangulation found techniques, generating as theory the following: the human development is knowing through a person life expectations; universities are essentials in the human development achievement; and the human development can be observed in the familiar, personal, academic and labor. The results showed a contradiction between the information emerged from social reality, lived and narrated by its actors, and the theoretic referents in which the study was based on.
