This article aims at showing a review of the literature around virtual distance University Education and analyzing four key categories : definition of virtual distance University Education, the relationship of the pedagogical approach and the New Information and Communication Techologies, competences and distance education strategies to be implemented in the educative institutions. On the other hand, this article is founded on the following inquiry process: qualitative research. theoretical search and review results in order to contribute to the research work on virtual distance University Education. Besides, emerging research lines on the mentioned categories are defined, and also the relevance of establishing academic and administrative policies concerning work at educative institutions and academic programs is stated.
