The study was started on October in the vegetable garden of the Juan C. Batista Dominguez trades school, in Calixto Garcia municipality, in Holguin province; in order to determinate the optimum moment of transplanting in sweet beet crop. The treatments studied were transplanting to 25, 30 and 35 days and direct planting as test treatment. The variety employed was Detroit, with a density of 53 plants/m2. The variables: high of the plant, wide and long and number of leaves, leaves area, diameter and weight of the root and yield were evaluated. The results showed that the best treatment was transplanting to 35 days, which was superior to test treatment, recommending its applications as alternative planting method in sweet beet crop.
