This text reflects upon the way in which Rene Girard’s Mimetic Theory has been applied to concrete research practice. It argues from the major difference made by Heidegger between the inquiry of science and the questioning of philosophy. This being the context from which Girard asks about the origin in order to track down the original omnipresent violence underlying in the role of sacred of every culture. These considerations suggest possibilities of researching from contexts which do not reproduce violence.
